Job summary

Meijer is offering an 11-week Store Leadership Internship designed for current Bachelor's degree students to gain practical leadership experience in a multi-store retail environment.

You will work on challenging projects, present to senior executives, and participate in executive speaker series and professional development opportunities that prepare you for future store leadership roles.

Qualifications

• Experiential program designed for students currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program.
• Ability to work flexible shifts to gain exposure to the full operation of the store.
• Past leadership responsibilities in work or extracurricular activities strongly preferred.
• Drive for results and customer focus are emphasized throughout the program.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and team members.
• Support department in achieving sales, maintaining shrink, and managing the P&L.
• Model exceptional, fast and friendly customer service.
• Mentor and coach team members to ensure customer service and sales goals are exceeded and the area is maintained to Meijer standards.
• Mentor and coach new team members to the department and help ensure they are onboarded and completing required training.
• Spend majority of time within the store communicating with customers and team members to ensure exceptional service is being delivered.
• Promote a safe work environment.
• Reliable and consistent attendance required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
