Meijer invites you to join its Store Leadership Internship, a 11-week program designed to build retail knowledge and leadership competencies.

Interns experience challenging projects, final presentations to senior executives, executive speaker series, development opportunities and networking to drive engagement, with a pathway to fulltime leadership roles through structured development and leadership rotations.

Qualifications

• Experiential internship designed for students enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program.
• Flexible shifts to expose you to full store operation.
• Prior retail experience preferred.
• Past leadership responsibilities in activities preferred.
• Passion for retail and a desire to lead store operations.
• Drive for results with focus on bottom line.
• Customer focus and service orientation.
• Relationship skills for positive working relationships.
• Action oriented with ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Decision quality: ability to analyze financial information.
• Effective communication: adapt style for clarity.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and team members.
• Support department in achieving sales, maintaining shrink, and managing the P&L.
• Model exceptional, fast and friendly customer service.
• Mentor and coach team members to ensure customer service and sales goals are exceeded and area maintained.
• Mentor and coach new team members to onboard and complete required training.
• Spend majority of time within the store communicating with customers and team members.
• Promote a safe work environment.
• Reliable and consistent attendance required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
