Job summary

Meijer Inc. offers an 11-week Store Leadership Internship designed to deliver hands-on retail leadership experience. Interns tackle real projects, receive diverse development opportunities, and interact with senior leaders throughout the program.

The internship lays the foundation for accelerated leadership paths within Meijer, including potential progression to store leadership roles with development rotations and exposure to multi-million dollar store operations.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program intending retail leadership.
• Able to work flexible shifts including evenings and weekends.
• Prior retail experience is a plus but not required.
• Leadership roles in campus or community activities are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a positive company image by courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and team members.
• Support department in achieving sales, maintaining shrink, and managing the P&L.
• Model exceptional, fast and friendly customer service.
• Mentor and coach team members to ensure customer service and sales goals are met.
• Spend majority of time in-store communicating with customers and team members to ensure exceptional service is delivered.
• Promote a safe work environment and reliable attendance.
• Conversion to a full-time role following the internship will be based on performance and leadership potential.
