Madewell is seeking an Assistant Manager to join our leadership team. You will support a profitable business by fostering genuine connections with customers and coaching teammates to excel.

You’ll partner with the leadership team to adjust strategies, drive traffic and sales, and step in on tasks as needed. Availability includes nights, weekends, and holidays; prior retail leadership preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience in a similar scope, specialty retail preferred.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to coach and develop a team.
• Strong organization and time-management abilities.
• Comfort with technology and store systems.

Responsibilities

• Be the role model for creating personalized connections with customers that drive loyalty and excitement for the brand.
• Observe associate performance on the selling floor and assist to make a connection or sale.
• Lead fit sessions that enhance product knowledge and fuel a style obsession.
• Help associates improve outcomes by sharing specific actions.
• Ensure the team meets or exceeds goals and expectations.
• Own the selling floor and ensure proper staffing.
• Be ready to step in for another manager as needed.
• Plan and execute local events to drive traffic and sales.
