Job summary

Madewell in the United States is seeking an Assistant Manager to join the leadership team. You will drive profitability through genuine customer connections, brand loyalty, and community engagement, while coaching the sales team to maximize performance.

You will collaborate with the Store Director and leadership to adapt strategies for business success and provide smooth operational support as needed, including recruiting and development efforts.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years retail management experience.
• Passionately support brand, customers, and teams.
• Stay up to date with fashion trends and industry developments.
• Embrace teamwork, flexibility and courtesy while executing tasks.
• Scheduling flexibility including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Must bend, reach, stretch for product and lift/move at least 40 pounds (18 kg).

Responsibilities

• Support the Store Director & Associate Store Manager to impact business results with a connection to the brand while maximizing profitability.
• Own your designated division of responsibility (Visual Merchandising, Operations, HR, Service & Selling).
• Manage store operations, systems, and technology with accountability.
• Assist Store Director & Associate Store Manager with recruiting, training and development.
• Collaborate with leadership to create a collaborative environment for all associates.
• Help the team exceed goals and deliver best-in-class customer service.
• Lead product knowledge sessions to elevate authentic customer connections.
• Develop innovative community engagement and loyalty-building events.
• Step into multiple roles on the sales floor as needed.
