Job summary

Dollar General Store is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in supervising staff, stocking, inventory, and store operations. This role is a developmental position held for a limited period to prepare for the Store Manager role.

The candidate will assist in recruiting, merchandising, inventory controls, cashier integrity, and ensuring a safe, well-presented store. Travel to other stores may be required; strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates.
• Competencies: leadership, collaboration, and customer focus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and staging, stocking and pricing.
• Assist in all aspects of inventory management and conduct inventories.
• Follow ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Operate store in store manager's absence.
• Review operating statements for trends and opportunities.
• Complete all paperwork and documentation.
