Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to assist in the effective implementation of store processes, supervise employees, and support inventory, stocking, and cashier controls. This role serves as a development path toward the Store Manager position and is limited in duration.

The candidate will help with recruiting, merchandising, inventory accuracy, and ensuring financial integrity through proper cash handling and deposits. Travel to other Dollar General stores may be required.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret documents and procedures.
• Basic math skills and percentages for reporting.
• Knowledge of cash handling and deposit controls.
• Familiarity with IBM register functions and report generation.
• Knowledge of inventory, merchandising practices, and safety policies.
• Bilingual Spanish speakers may be preferred at some locations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Support store merchandising and stocking according to standards.
• Help manage inventory, damages, markdowns, and paperwork.
• Monitor in-stock targets and ordering practices.
• Provide customer service leadership and cashier accountability.
• Participate in opening/closing, bank deposits, and store security.
• Review operating statements for trends and improvements.
• Complete paperwork and documentation on time.
