Job summary

Dollar General in Swanton, VT seeks a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in implementing store processes, supervising staff, inventory management, stocking and receiving, and related duties. This temporary role develops external candidates for the Store Manager position.

You will assist in staffing, merchandising, inventory control, and daily store operations while upholding company procedures and providing strong customer service leadership.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit controls.
• Ability to learn IBM cash register functions and generate reports.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising, staging, stocking and pricing.
• Assist in inventory management and prepare inventories.
• Follow ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Follow company policies and open/close the store as needed.
• Ensure cash control and safe deposits are handled properly.
• Review operating statements for trends and opportunities.
