Job summary

Dollar General seeks a Store Manager Candidate to assist the Store Manager in implementing store processes, supervising staff, and managing inventory and merchandising. The role focuses on developing an external candidate for future Store Manager responsibilities on a limited-term basis.

The position requires strong cash handling, inventory control, and customer service leadership. Candidates with retail experience and a high school diploma are preferred; bilingual skills may be advantageous in

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposit controls.
• Ability to recruit, interview, and train staff within company policies.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and stocking according to store manager direction.
• Assist in all aspects of inventory management and prepare inventories.
• Follow prescribed ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Open and close the store as needed and ensure safety in operations.
• Maintain cash controls and proper deposits; follow security practices.
• Keep store clean, well-stocked, and safe for customers and employees.
• Review operating statements to identify trends and opportunities.
