Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in daily operations and staff supervision. The role focuses on developing external candidates for future Store Manager positions and will be for a limited period.

Responsibilities include merchandising, inventory control, cashier accountability, and ensuring a safe, well-organized store. Travel to other locations may be required.

Qualifications

• Reading and interpreting basic documents, safety rules, manuals.
• Perform basic math operations (addition, subtraction, etc.).
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposit controls.
• Learn and operate IBM cash register functions for reports.
• Understand inventory management and merchandising best practices.
• Know cash, safety controls (deposits, keys, SAFE/STARS).
• Recruit, hire, and train staff within policy.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Support store merchandising and proper signage/pricing as directed.
• Assist inventory management, damages, markdowns, and paperwork.
• Follow ordering to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide strong customer service leadership.
• Follow company procedures and policies.
