Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in staffing, inventory, stocking and customer service. The role promotes development of an external candidate for the Store Manager position and is for a limited period.

You will assist in recruiting, merchandising, inventory control, and store operations while upholding company policies and procedures. Travel and overtime may be required as part of store needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of retail experience preferred for external candidates.
• Ability to read and interpret documents and perform basic math.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising by facilitating staging, stocking and storage of merchandise.
• Assist in all aspects of inventory management, including damages, markdowns, scans and paperwork.
• Follow prescribed ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Operate store in store manager's absence.
• Review operating statements and identify trends and opportunities.
• Complete all paperwork and documentation on time.
