Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager to lead all store operations, including staffing, training, inventory control, cashier accountability and customer service excellence. The role emphasizes adherence to federal and state labor laws and company policies while driving sales and store performance.

The candidate will be responsible for open/close procedures, staff evaluations, and maintaining a safe, well-organized shopping environment in a fast-paced retail setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience managing store-level staff in retail is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees according to laws and company policies.
• Provide training, conduct evaluations and address performance gaps including counseling or termination.
• Make recommendations on pay rate and advancement for staff.
• Communicate performance expectations and ensure safety, security and policy compliance.
• Ensure proper staffing and daily opening/closing procedures.
• Maintain inventory accuracy, manage stock replenishment and cycle counts.
• Oversee cashier accountability, cash control and store security practices.
• Deliver superior customer service leadership and maintain a clean, safe store environment.
