Qualifications

• Strong reading and interpretation of diagrams, safety rules and procedures.
• Ability to perform basic math including percentages and deposits.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and cashier accountability.
• Experience with IBM cash register functions and reporting.
• Understanding of inventory and merchandising practices.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and teamwork.
• Knowledge of recruiting, interviewing, hiring, counseling and termination.
• Familiar with store safety, policies and cash controls.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees according to policies and laws.
• Provide training, conduct evaluations, identify gaps and counsel when needed.
• Advise on pay rate and advancement opportunities.
• Communicate performance and safety expectations; lead meetings.
• Ensure proper staffing and opening/closing of store.
• Open and close store at least twice weekly.
• Analyze sales, profitability, and inventory to identify trends and opportunities.
• Manage ordering and replenishment to meet targets and control stock.
• Maintain proper merchandising, pricing and signage presentation.
• Monitor inventory levels, damages, markdowns and paperwork.
• Maintain cash control and security; supervise cashier station and tools.
• Provide exceptional customer service leadership.
• Keep a clean, safe and well-organized store environment.
