Job summary

DICK'S Sporting Goods is seeking an Assistant Store Manager - Sales to elevate sales performance and athlete engagement by leading and developing a high-impact retail team. You will coach teammates to deliver exceptional service, execute key business strategies, and foster an athlete-first culture that brings the DICK'S brand to life.

You will drive payroll, scheduling, and hiring decisions for the Captain (Supervisor) team, ensuring budget alignment and a positive, inclusive store environment

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• 1-3 years experience in retail or customer-focused roles.
• 1-3 years of retail management experience or equivalent responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Store Manager to develop and execute annual growth plans and budgets.
• Directly manage a team of Captains and coach broader store staff for performance.
• Maintain merchandising standards, drive customer loyalty programs and product presentation.
• Lead training initiatives and develop leadership capabilities within the team.
• Plan staffing with Store Manager; oversee scheduling to meet budget and traffic needs.
• Hire and build strong teams; own hiring decisions for leadership and hourly staff.
• Enforce safety, policies, loss prevention, and exceptional customer service standards.
