Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager to oversee all store processes, including ordering, receiving, stocking, presentation, selling, staffing and support. You will recruit, train, evaluate and retain staff while ensuring compliance with policies and safety standards, and you will personally open/close the store multiple times per week.

You will evaluate operating statements, manage inventory, and maintain financial integrity through cashier accountability and proper cash handling.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees according to labor laws and policies; ensure staff is properly staffed.
• Provide training for employees; conduct performance evaluations; identify gaps and counsel as needed.
• Make recommendations on pay rate and advancement.
• Communicate performance, safety and policy expectations; coordinate meetings to ensure adherence.
• Open and close the store as required, ensuring daily readiness and security.
