Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager to oversee all store operations, including staffing, training, ordering, receiving, stocking, presentation, selling, and compliance with policies.

You will lead a team, conduct performance evaluations, ensure cash handling accuracy, safety, and customer service, and open/close the store as needed. A high school diploma and retail management experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Strong knowledge of cash handling and inventory practices.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees and ensure proper staffing.
• Provide training, conduct performance evaluations, and counsel or terminate when needed.
• Make recommendations regarding employee pay rate and advancement.
• Communicate performance, conduct and safety expectations regularly; coordinate meetings and events to ensure safety and policies.
• Open and close the store as required; ensure proper staffing for shifts.
• Evaluate operating statements and review ordering plans and inventory management weekly.
• Facilitate stocking and merchandise presentation per company standards.
• Maintain accurate inventory levels and cash control procedures.
• Provide superior customer service leadership and maintain a clean, safe store environment.
• Follow SOPs and complete all paperwork and documentation on deadlines.
