Job summary

The role emphasizes coaching, budgeting input, and driving sales while maintaining safety and accuracy. You'll partner with store leadership to execute merchandising plans and support a positive shopping experience for customers.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as department manager, service manager, or in an equivalent role.
• Demonstrated experience leading, coaching, and developing associates to achieve customer service and business goals in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Proven ability to use KPIs, metrics and data insights to identify opportunities, solve problems, and support business decisions.
• Collaborate across departments and influence others to drive store performance.

Responsibilities

• Assist store manager and associates in achieving a favorable customer shopping experience and develop interest in customer service relations to enhance Kroger's reputation.
• Lead teams in planning, implementing and executing merchandising and operating initiatives.
• Develop action plans and communications to associates on survey results.
• Identify store opportunities and create timely solutions with department heads.
• Model and demand a high level of customer service and resolve issues.
• Manage total store operations in the store manager's absence.
• Aim to exceed weekly, period, and annual sales and profit budgets.
• Drive sales by maximizing department contributions and reducing shrink.
