Job summary

The Kroger Co. is seeking a Store Manager focused on leading daily store operations in Sterling Heights, MI. You will drive sales, manage budgets, and mentor a diverse team to deliver exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities include coordinating merchandising initiatives, analyzing KPIs, and ensuring compliance with company policies. This role requires strong leadership and a track record of developing future leaders within a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum: High school diploma or GED.
• Demonstrated experience leading, coaching and developing associates to achieve customer service, operational and business goals in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Experience using KPIs, metrics and data insights to identify opportunities, solve problems and support business decisions.

Responsibilities

• Learn the operations of all departments and the duties of store management; share responsibility for store performance in all areas of operation/human resources.
• Assist store manager and associates in achieving a favorable customer shopping experience and develop associate interest in customer service/relations to enhance Kroger's reputation.
• Assist Store Manager in leading teams in planning, implementing and executing merchandising/operating initiatives.
• Lead action plans/communications to associates on Associate Insight survey results.
• Identify store opportunities with department heads to develop timely solutions and implement plans.
• Model highest level of customer service and resolve issues for associates/customers.
• Manage total store operations in the store manager's absence.
• Drive sales by working with department managers to maximize sales and profits, reduce shrink and improve each department's contribution.
• Participate in budgeting discussions and monitor performance against budgets (sales, shrink, labor, etc.).
• Communicate with district managers and coordinators on merchandising/operational plans/programs.
