Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED required.
• 1 year of experience as department manager or equivalent.
• Demonstrated experience leading, coaching, and developing associates to achieve goals in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Experience using KPIs, metrics, and data insights to identify opportunities and support business decisions.
• Proven ability to collaborate across departments and influence others.

Responsibilities

• Learn the operations of all departments and duties of store management; share responsibility for store performance.
• Perform scheduling, security, safety, sanitation, ordering, administration & HR-related duties.
• Demonstrate Kroger values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.
• Assist store manager and associates in delivering a favorable customer shopping experience and strengthening customer service relations.
• Lead merchandising/operating initiatives and plan/execute action plans to meet targets.
• Manage total store operations in the store manager's absence and drive sales with department managers.
• Participate in budget development, labor management, and cost controls to meet financial targets.
• Promote strong relationships with local community organizations and union representatives where applicable.
• Communicate information to associates to support duties and store programs.
