Job summary

Family Dollar Stores Of North Carolina LLC in Durham, NC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development. You will help with opening/closing, merchandising, scheduling, payroll and loss prevention, while ensuring a safe, friendly shopping environment.

The role requires strong communication and leadership skills, the ability to manage daily activities, and adherence to company policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform frequent walking, standing, and lifting.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and maintain awareness of store communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, records including payroll and scheduling.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Ensure staff follow policies and procedures and supervise/train Store Associates.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and professional store environment.
• Other duties as assigned.
