Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a store manager to oversee all store processes, including ordering, receiving, stocking, presentation, selling, staffing and support. You will recruit, train and evaluate staff, ensure front-end cashier accountability and uphold safety and compliance standards.

The role requires managing daily store operations, open/close duties, and maintaining strong customer service while driving sales and profitability.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
Ability to recruit, hire and train qualified applicants to fulfill a store need.
Knowledge of cash handling procedures and cashier accountability.

Responsibilities

Recruit, select and retain qualified employees according to labor laws and company policies; ensure store is properly staffed.
Provide proper training for employees; conduct performance evaluations; counsel or terminate as needed.
Make recommendations regarding employee pay rate and advancement.
Communicate performance, conduct and safety expectations; coordinate meetings and events.
Open and close the store as required and ensure operations run smoothly.
Order and review inventory to meet in-stock targets and manage cycles.
