• Knowledge of cash handling and deposit control.
• Experience with IBM cash register functions to generate reports.
• Understanding of inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Good interpersonal skills for leading staff and customer interactions.
• Knowledge of recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and termination practices.
• Familiarity with cash, safety, and store security policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees; ensure store is properly staffed.
• Provide training and conduct performance evaluations; address gaps with coaching or termination if needed.
• Make recommendations regarding pay rate and advancement.
• Communicate performance, conduct and safety expectations; coordinate meetings.
• Ensure store is properly staffed and opened/closed each day.
• Open and close the store at least twice per week.
• Evaluate operating statements for sales, profit, and turns; control expenses.
