Job summary

Dollar General stores are seeking a General Manager to lead store operations, staffing, and daily processes. You will oversee ordering, receiving, stocking, pricing, and customer service to ensure a high-quality shopping experience.

Responsibilities include recruiting and training staff, conducting evaluations, managing open/close duties, and maintaining cash control and security. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1 year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret documents.
• Good organization and attention to detail.
• Bilingual Spanish speakers preferred at some locations.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees according to laws and policies.
• Provide training, evaluations, and counseling as needed.
• Set pay rate recommendations and advancement paths.
• Communicate performance, safety and policy expectations regularly.
• Open and close the store at least twice weekly.
• Monitor sales, profitability, and inventory trends.
• Manage stock replenishment and inventory accuracy.
• Ensure merchandise presentation and pricing accuracy.
• Maintain cash control and security procedures.
• Deliver superior customer service leadership.
