Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Store Manager to oversee all store operations, staffing, ordering, stocking, presentation and sales performance.

You will lead training, evaluate performance, control costs and ensure safety and customer service excellence while maintaining compliance with company policies. This role emphasizes strong leadership, inventory accuracy, and adherence to retail procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Bilingual Spanish speakers may be preferred at some locations.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees according to federal and state labor laws and company policies.
• Provide proper training for employees; conduct performance evaluations; identify gaps for solutions.
• Make recommendations regarding employee pay rate and advancement.
• Communicate performance, conduct and safety expectations; coordinate meetings and events.
• Open/close the store reliably; ensure staffing meets needs.
• Evaluate operating statements for sales, profitability and turn; manage expenses.
• Review ordering plans and inventory weekly; monitor stock levels.
• Stock merchandise and maintain presentation according to standards.
• Maintain accurate inventory and cash controls.
• Provide superior customer service leadership in daily operations.
