Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager in Mississippi to lead all store operations, drive sales, manage staff, and ensure excellent customer service. You will oversee ordering, receiving, stocking, presentation, staffing, and loss prevention, while upholding company policies and safety standards.

In this role you will recruit and develop associates, monitor performance, control expenses, and maintain a clean, well-organized store that delivers value to our customers every day.

Qualifications

• Reads and interprets diagrams, safety rules, operating manuals, and procedures.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations (percentages, totals).
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposits.

Responsibilities

• Recruits, selects, and retains qualified employees; ensures store is properly staffed.
• Provides training, conducts evaluations, identifies gaps and counseling up to termination.
• Makes recommendations on pay rates and advancement.
• Communicates performance, safety expectations; coordinates meetings.
• Ensures proper opening/closing of store; maintains schedule.
• Evaluates operating statements for trends and control opportunities.
• Manages ordering and inventory, reviews weekly plans and cycle counts.
• Facilitates staging, stocking and storage of merchandise per company processes.
• Ensures merchandise presentation, pricing and signage are correct.
• Maintains inventory accuracy through damages, markdowns and paperwork.
• Upholds cash control and security procedures; ensures cashier accountability.
• Delivers superior customer service leadership.
• Maintains clean, safe store environment.
