Job summary

Qualifications

• Read and interpret documents such as diagrams, safety rules, and procedures manuals.
• Perform mathematical calculations including percentages.
• Cash handling procedures with cashier accountability and deposits.
• Operate IBM cash registers to generate reports.
• Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of recruiting, interviewing, hiring, counseling and termination practices including legal compliance.
• Understand cash, facility and safety control policies; store keys and SAFE program.
• Good organization and attention to detail; problem solving in varied situations.
• Bilingual Spanish speakers may be preferred at some locations.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees; ensure proper staffing.
• Provide training, conduct performance evaluations, counsel or terminate as needed.
• Advise on pay rate and advancement opportunities.
• Communicate performance, conduct and safety expectations; coordinate meetings.
• Staff and open/close the store daily.
• Monitor sales, profitability, and stock turns; manage shrink and errors.
• Order to meet in-stock targets; review weekly plans and cycle counts.
• Facilitate staging, stocking and storage of merchandise per processes.
• Maintain presentation, pricing and signage according to standards.
• Maintain accurate inventory; control damages and markdowns.
• Ensure financial integrity through cashier accountability and cash controls.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Maintain a clean, safe, organized store; provide a safe environment.
• Ensure tools and equipment are available to perform tasks.
• Comply with SOPs, handbook, and communications; complete paperwork on time.
