Job summary

The Michaels Companies Inc. is seeking a Store Manager in Downey, CA to lead all store operations and drive exceptional customer service.

You will manage a diverse team, oversee inventory, merchandising, and KPI achievement, while enforcing company SOPs and policies. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in retail with 2+ years supervising staff, and a proven ability to coach talent and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of retail experience, including inventory management, merchandising and customer service excellence.
• 2+ years of experience directly supervising a diverse team with performance management.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all aspects of the store, ensuring SOPs and policies are followed and team accountability maintained.
• Deliver sales and profit plans and meet KPI targets with the store team.
• Execute customer brand promises and manage shrink and safety programs.
• Set goals, prioritize work, and communicate plans to relevant staff and customers.
• Staff the store with qualified Team Members, hire, train, coach, and manage performance.
• Interact respectfully and model the organization’s vision and values.
• Serve as Manager on Duty (MOD) and maintain cross-training across departments.
