Job summary

Staples is seeking an Assistant Manager to drive sales and customer engagement in store operations. You will lead a team to deliver total solutions, coach staff, and ensure a welcoming, high-performing store experience for customers.

In this role you will manage and develop team performance, align with store goals, coach for consultative selling, handle operational tasks, and support the GM in daily leadership and community engagement.

Qualifications

• 2+ years managing a sales team in a retail or services industry.
• Experience coaching a team in a customer-centric, solutions-based environment.
• Must be able to engage and speak to customers and understand their needs.
• Strong communication, organization, planning and adaptability to changing priorities.
• Review results against business goals and deliver plans for growth.
• Ability to lift/move materials in the 10-50 pound range and work in a high paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop a high-performing team through coaching, training and role playing.
• Attain sales and services goals, profit margin and execution of store operations.
• Establish business cadence for sales readiness and daily merchandising direction.
• Assist with delegating operational tasks in partnership with the GM.
• Shared responsibility for total store operations and cost control as well as acting as Floor Leader.
• Champion Staples initiatives and adapt to changes in responsibilities.
