Job summary

Kroger Co. is seeking an experienced Store/Department Leader in Hernando, MS to support the store manager in planning, coordinating and executing merchandising and operating initiatives. You will help drive sales, manage budgets, and coach associates to deliver exceptional customer service.

The role requires leadership skills, experience with KPIs, and the ability to collaborate across departments to improve store performance and guest experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED required.
• 1 year of experience as department manager, service manager, or equivalent.
• Experience leading, coaching, and developing associates to achieve goals in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Experience using KPIs, metrics, and data insights to identify opportunities, solve problems, and support business decisions.
• Ability to collaborate across departments and influence others to drive store performance.
• Proven success driving customer experience, sales growth, and operational excellence.
• Experience managing competing priorities while leading teams through change.

Responsibilities

• Assist store manager in delivering a favorable customer shopping experience and developing associate engagement.
• Lead teams in planning, implementing, and executing merchandising and operating initiatives.
• Communicate action plans to associates based on survey results and feedback.
• Identify store opportunities with department heads and implement timely solutions.
• Model outstanding customer service and resolve issues promptly.
• Oversee total store operations in the store manager’s absence.
• Help achieve weekly, period, and annual sales, wage, and profit budgets.
