Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as diagrams, safety rules, operating instructions, and procedures manuals.

Responsibilities

• Recruits, selects, and retains qualified employees according to laws and policies; ensure store is properly staffed.
• Provides proper training for employees; conducts performance evaluations; identifies gaps for solutions or counseling up to termination.
• Makes recommendations regarding employee pay rate and advancement.
• Communicates performance, conduct and safety expectations; coordinates meetings to ensure safety and compliance.
• Ensures store is staffed and opened/closed correctly; occasional early/late openings.
• Evaluates operating statements for trends, profitability, shrink, and errors.
• Manages ordering to meet in-stock targets; reviews plans and cycle counts.
• Facilitates efficient staging, stocking and storage of merchandise following company processes.
• Ensures merchandise presentation, pricing and signage meet standards.
• Maintains inventory accuracy by controlling damages, markdowns and paperwork.
• Ensures financial integrity through cashier accountability and cash handling procedures.
• Provides superior customer service leadership.
• Maintains a clean, safe and organized store environment.
• Ensures necessary tools and equipment are available.
• Follows SOPs, handbook and company communications; ensures compliance.
• Completes all paperwork and documentation on time.
