Foot Locker in Edison, NJ is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to lead the floor with energy and ownership, supporting the Store Manager to drive sales and coaching the team. This role requires hands-on leadership, strong customer focus, and the ability to manage opening/closing, cash handling, and daily operations while maintaining store standards.

The ASM will coach, onboard, and develop associates, ensuring exceptional customer experiences and adherence to safety and loss prevention

Qualifications

• 1+ years of retail experience, preferably in a leadership or key holding role.
• Ability to coach, motivate, and engage a diverse team.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example on the sales floor with an energy-driven mindset to deliver solutions to customers.
• Coach the team to deliver excellent service, share product knowledge, and keep customers excited to shop.
• Support sales goals by staying engaged on the floor and helping the team close the loop with customers.
• Help manage daily store operations including opening/closing, cash handling, and floor coverage.
• Move with purpose by keeping the store organized, customer ready, and running smoothly.
• Follow all safety, loss prevention, and standard operating procedures to protect customers, teammates, and product.
• Take an owner/operators mindset by addressing issues and maintaining standards of store execution.
• Leverage retail technology and digital tools to enhance the customer experience and support efficient operations.
• Serve as Manager on Duty when scheduled, providing confident leadership and clear direction.
• Support hiring, onboarding, and training of store associates.
