Job summary

Foot Locker in Woodbury, NJ is hiring an Assistant Store Manager to lead the sales floor with energy and ownership. You will support the Store Manager, coach the team, and deliver a great customer experience.

You’ll help manage daily store operations, monitor KPIs, and develop staff while upholding safety standards. This role requires flexible hours including evenings and weekends, with opportunities for development within the DICK'S Sporting Goods family.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of retail experience, preferably in a leadership or key holding role.
• Ability to coach, motivate, and engage a diverse team.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Reliable, self motivated, and ready to take ownership.
• Basic understanding of retail KPIs and operational processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example on the sales floor with an energy and ownership mindset.
• Coach the team to deliver great service, share product knowledge, and keep customers excited to shop.
• Support sales goals by staying engaged on the floor and helping the team close the loop with customers.
• Manage daily store operations including opening/closing, cash handling, and floor coverage.
• Follow safety, loss prevention, and SOPs to protect customers, teammates, and product.
• Serve as Manager on Duty when scheduled, providing confident leadership and direction.
• Assist in hiring, onboarding, and training of store associates.
