Job summary

Goodwill Houston is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to lead daily store operations, donated goods processing, and a productive workforce. You will supervise associates, manage schedules, complete time sheets, and uphold safety programs to ensure efficient performance.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of retail experience, strong organizational skills, and reliable transportation. Flexibility for holidays, evenings, and weekends is required in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Management experience preferred.
• 1–2 years of retail sales experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Good time management and organizational skills required.
• Ability to communicate and interact well with a variety of personality types.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including holidays, evenings, overnights, and weekends.
• Must have reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all management duties including opening/closing, store operations, and supervising associates.
• Hire, train, supervise and evaluate staff in line with GWH policies.
• Adhere to rotating schedules and adjust as needed with District Manager approval.
• Maintain availability to support store leadership needs beyond rotating schedule.
• Complete daily management duties per GWH leadership.
• Ensure the Safety Program is followed and effective.
• Guide the team toward meeting daily/weekly/monthly/annual goals.
• Coordinate with Store Manager on schedules and time sheets.
