Job summary

Goodwill Houston is seeking a Retail Team Lead (RTL) who will support daily store operations under the Store Manager and District Director. You will lead the team, ensure world-class customer service, and oversee donation processing and accuracy at the register.

The RTL must be reliable, able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, and willing to work a flexible schedule including holidays and weekends. This role emphasizes leadership and operational excellence in a retail setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1–2 years of retail sales experience preferred.
• Management/supervisor experience with 1+ year preferred.
• Basic computer skills and good time management.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including holidays, evenings, overnights, and weekends.
• Reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Open/close store and manage day-to-day operations in the absence of the Manager or Assistant Manager.
• Communicate clear company goals daily, weekly, and monthly to the team.
• Accurately complete sales transactions and maintain cash accountability at POS registers/safe.
• Supervise and assist with training and development of Team Members.
• Ensure proper handling of incoming donation flow according to policies.
• Ensure apparel and hard goods rotation per policies.
• Operate store systems and maintain donor counts and production standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
