Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations and lead a team to deliver excellent customer service. You will help supervise staff, present merchandise, manage inventory, and assist with deposits while upholding company policies and profitability.

The role involves cashier duties, opening/closing the store, and ensuring adherence to safety and security procedures. Prior supervisory experience in retail is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to manage cash handling procedures and store security.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers, and operate cash register to itemize the customer's purchase.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees and training.
• Manage merchandise stocking, display, and planograms per Store Manager direction.
• Maintain accurate inventory and assist with deposits and cash control procedures.
• Assist with store operations in the Store Manager's absence.
