Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help maintain a clean, customer-first store and supervise staff under the Store Manager's direction. You will assist with merchandise presentation, deposits, and daily paperwork while protecting assets and reducing losses.

Key duties include leading customer service, training employees, opening/closing the store, and ensuring compliance with policies. Experience in retail supervision is preferred.

Qualifications

• Customer service leadership and communication.
• Ability to operate cash register and scanner and perform cash handling.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to read and interpret store procedures and safety rules.
• Ability to perform basic math and generate reports.
• Knowledge of cash handling and deposit control procedures.
• Ability to drive to the bank to deposit money.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership and operate the cash register.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist with scheduling, training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Manage merchandise through receiving, stocking, restocking and display building.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and control damages, markdowns and scans.
• Support planogram implementation and merchandise presentation.
• Ensure financial integrity with cashier accountability and deposits.
• Assist with store management in the Store Manager's absence.
