Job summary

Dollar General Lead Sales Associate will help manage a clean, customer-first store, assist customers with finding and purchasing merchandise, operate a cash register, stock and recover merchandise, and support the Store Manager to maximize profitability and protect assets.

The role includes duties of a Sales Associate and acting in a lead capacity when the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager is absent. High school diploma and supervisory experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Knowledge of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow planograms and merchandise presentation guides.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations (add/subtract/multiply/divide/percent).
• Ability to perform cash register functions accurately.
• Knowledge of cash handling and deposit control policies.
• Ability to drive own vehicle to the bank to deposit money.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership and assist customers.
• Operate cash register, scan items, collect payment, bag merchandise, and assist customers.
• Stock and rotate merchandise, set up displays, and follow planograms.
• Keep the store clean and organized, take out trash, and maintain restrooms and stockroom.
• Open/close the store under Store Manager guidance; assist in Manager's duties in their absence.
