Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a proactive Cashier/Stocker to serve as a lead in the absence of the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager. You will unload trucks, stock shelves, greet customers, and help maintain plan-o-grams while ensuring a clean, organized store.

The role emphasizes accurate cash handling, teamwork, and exceptional customer service. You may open or close the store under supervision and support store security practices.

Qualifications

• Basic math calculations including percentages.
• Experience with cash handling and deposit control.
• Ability to operate cash registers and scanners.
• Knowledge of cash, safety and facility policies.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks following store procedures.
• Open, receive and unpack cartons and totes.
• Stock, rotate and face merchandise on shelves.
• Restock returned merchandise and build displays.
• Order zones and manage drop shipments as directed by Store Manager.
• Assist in plan-o-gram implementation and maintenance.
• Greet customers and assist in locating merchandise.
• Maintain register area and bagging workflow.
• Operate cash register, process payments and make change.
