Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Cashier/Stocker with lead responsibilities in the absence of the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager. You will help set and maintain plan-o-grams, assist customers, and support profitability and teamwork while protecting assets.

The role includes unloading trucks, stocking merchandise, operating the register, and upholding store cleanliness and safety. Strong customer service and cash handling skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and percentages.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.
• Knowledge of cash, facility and safety control policies and practices.
• Effective interpersonal and oral & written communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks according to store procedures.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons and totes.
• Stock merchandise and rotate/face on shelves.
• Restock returned/recovered merchandise.
• Assist in plan-o-gram implementation and maintenance.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise.
• Operate cash register and total purchases; bag merchandise.
• Open/close the store under Area Manager direction; handle refunds/overrides and cash.
