Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Cashier and Stocker who can act as a lead when store management is unavailable. You will help maintain plan-o-grams, assist customers, stock merchandise, and support store profitability and safety.

The role emphasizes exemplary customer service, cash handling, and teamwork. You will also perform duties to ensure a clean, organized store and efficient checkout operations during full-time shifts.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.
• Ability to operate IBM cash register functions.
• Knowledge of cash, facility and safety control policies and practices.
• Effective interpersonal and oral & written communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks according to store procedures.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons and totes.
• Stock, rotate and face merchandise on shelves and build displays.
• Restock returned merchandise and maintain store cleanliness.
• Assist in plan-o-gram implementation and maintenance.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise and providing service.
• Operate cash register, collect payment and bag items.
• Maintain counter space, manage bagging and cashier area.
• Help ensure cashier accountability and security practices.
