Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an entry-level Cashier/Stocker who can also act as a lead in the absence of the Store Manager. Responsibilities include unloading trucks, stocking shelves, and providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires effective cash handling, use of IBM cash registers, and adherence to safety and loss prevention policies. A high school diploma or equivalent and some supervisory experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, percentages).
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and cashier accountability.
• Ability to operate IBM cash register functions.
• Knowledge of cash, safety and control policies.
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practice.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and stock merchandise; maintain plan‑ograms.
• Assist customers locating merchandise and stock displays.
• Operate cash register, collect payment, and make change.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of store and stockroom.
• Open/close procedures and supervise in absence of managers.
