Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a proactive Cashier and Stocker lead to support store operations and customer service. You will perform cashier duties, stock and rotate merchandise, and assist in executing plan-o-gram layouts while maintaining a safe, clean shopping environment.

In this role, you will greet customers, help locate items, and lead in the absence of store management, ensuring accurate cash handling and adherence to company procedures.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform mathematical calculations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.
• Knowledge of cash, facility and safety control policies and practices.
• Effective interpersonal and oral & written communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and stock shelves according to store procedures.
• Assist in plan-o-gram implementation and maintenance.
• Provide superior customer service and assist customers in locating merchandise.
• Operate cash register, handle payments, and bag merchandise.
• Maintain store cleanliness and safety; manage front-end areas and displays.
• Assist in opening/closing procedures under management guidance.
