Job summary

Dollar General seeks a Lead Sales Associate to maintain a clean, customer-first store and help drive daily operations.

You will greet customers, operate the register, stock and display merchandise, and assist with opening and closing duties under the Store Manager. The role emphasizes safety, teamwork and efficient service. A high school diploma and some supervisory experience are preferred; reliable transportation is helpful.

Qualifications

• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow planogram and merchandise presentation guides.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.
• Ability to perform cash register functions.
• Knowledge of cash, facility, and safety control policies and practices.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.
• Ability to drive own vehicle to the bank to deposit money.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers.
• Operate cash register and scanner; itemize purchases, take payments, bag merchandise, and assist customers.
• Receive, open and unpack merchandise; stock, restock and rotate on shelves; build displays.
• Clean store, take out trash, dust and mop floors, clean restrooms and stockroom, set up sidewalk displays.
• Assist in planogram implementation and maintenance.
• Open and close the store per Store Manager directions.
• Perform duties typically done by Store Manager/Assistant in their absence.
