Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run a clean, well-organized store with a customer-first approach. You will support the Store Manager in supervising staff, merchandising, deposits, and loss prevention while ensuring excellent service and store profitability.

Responsibilities include scheduling, training, inventory control, planogram execution, and maintaining cash controls. This role requires teamwork and reliability in a fast-paced retail environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers, and operate cash register and scanner to itemize the customer’s purchase.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees, providing training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Follow work processes to manage merchandise, receive/unpack/stock/rotate merchandise, and build displays.
• Assist in maintaining accurate inventory by controlling damages, markdowns, scanning, paperwork, and facility controls.
• Assist in implementing and maintaining planograms; ensure merchandise is presented per standards.
• Assist in ensuring financial integrity via cashier accountability, key control, and cash procedures; authorize refunds/overrides, count tills, deposit funds.
• Assist with management of the store in the Store Manager’s absence.
