Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run a clean, organized store with a customer-first approach. You will support the Store Manager in supervising staff, merchandising, and deposits, while also stocking, cashiering, and protecting assets.

You will help with scheduling, training, safety meetings, and policy adherence, ensuring accurate inventory, planograms, and cash procedures. This role often acts in the manager’s absence to keep the store running smoothly.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of retail experience and six months supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership at the checkout and assist customers.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist with scheduling, training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Manage merchandise via receiving, stocking, and displays.
• Maintain accurate inventory and control damages, markdowns, and paperwork.
• Ensure proper planogram implementation and merchandise presentation.
• Maintain cash control, deposits, refunds and supervisor overrides when applicable.
• Assist in store management in the Store Manager's absence.
