Job summary

The Children’s Place Store Lead in Lakewood, CA supports the Store Leadership Team with cash-wrap operations and opening/closing procedures, acting as Leader on Duty (LOD). The role represents the brand, engages customers, maintains store standards, and fosters teamwork and employee development.

Experience in retail, strong communication, and the ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends are preferred. This position requires 1–3 years of retail experience and a high school diploma.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-3 years retail experience.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing talent through training of associates and coaching conversations.
• Partner with Store Manager to address performance concerns with associates.
• Support and participate in company training and development initiatives.
• Foster a positive work environment and provide timely feedback.
• Assess performance and provide feedback during daily interactions and annual reviews.
• Motivate and inspire associates to build brand loyalty and a positive store environment.
• Model exceptional customer service and maintain brand standards on the sales floor.
• Represent the company professionally and positively.
• Support management to maximize productivity through operations, product knowledge, and customer service initiatives.
• Participate in Leader on Duty (LOD) ensuring an exceptional customer experience and store profitability while managing payroll.
• Process payroll weekly and adjust schedules as needed.
• Help maintain a clean, organized stockroom and comply with CRE Standards & Safety.
