Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Lead Sales Associate to help maintain a clean, well-organized store with a customer-first focus. You will assist customers, operate a cash register, stock and display merchandise, and support the Store Manager in daily operations to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction.

In this role you lead by example, perform cashier duties, manage planograms, and may step in for the Store Manager in their absence.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal and oral communication abilities.
• Knowledge of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow planograms and merch presentation guides.
• Ability to perform basic math including percentages.
• Ability to operate a cash register.
• Knowledge of cash handling policies and cashier accountability.
• Ability to drive own vehicle to the bank to deposit money.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers.
• Operate cash register and scanner to total purchases, collect payment, bag merchandise.
• Stock merchandise and restock/rotate per planograms; build displays.
• Clean the store; take out trash; clean restrooms and stockroom; set up sidewalk displays.
• Assist in implementation and maintenance of planograms.
• Open and close the store under Store Manager direction.
• Perform duties of Store Manager in their absence.
