Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Lead Sales Associate to support a clean, customer-first store. You will help customers locate and purchase merchandise, operate the cash register, stock and recover products, and assist with planograms and store upkeep.

You may act as a lead in the absence of the Store Manager, performing duties to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction while safeguarding company assets. Requires strong communication and cash handling skills.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal and oral communication abilities.
• Knowledge of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow planograms and merch presentation guides.
• Competence with basic math operations including percentages.
• Ability to operate a cash register and handle transactions.
• Understanding of cash handling policies and deposit controls.
• Willingness to drive to the bank to deposit money.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service leadership; greet and assist customers.
• Operate cash register, scan items, collect payment, bag merchandise.
• Receive, unpack, stock, rotate merchandise, and build displays.
• Keep the store clean and organized; manage trash, floors, and restrooms.
• Assist in planogram implementation and store layout upkeep.
• Open and close the store under direction of the Store Manager.
• Perform duties of Sales Associate in the Store Manager/Asst. Store Manager's absence.
