Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Lead Sales Associate to help maintain a clean, well-organized store with a customer-first focus. You will assist customers, operate the cash register, stock merchandise, and support the Store Manager in daily operations.

You will act as manager on duty in the absence of store leadership, follow planograms, ensure safety and cash handling procedures, and help drive store profitability and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Proficient interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow planogram and merchandise presentation guides.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.
• Knowledge of cash, facility, and safety control policies and practices.
• Ability to perform cash register functions.
• Knowledge of Company policies and procedures as outlined in SOPs and Employee Handbook.

Responsibilities

• Provides excellent customer service, greets and assists customers.
• Operates cash register and scanner to itemize and total customer’s purchase, collects payment from customers and makes change, bags merchandise, and assists customers with merchandise as necessary.
• Follows Company merchandise processes; unpack, stock, restock, and rotate merchandise on shelves and build merchandise displays.
• Cleans the store, take out trash, dust and mop store floors, clean restroom and receiving room, and help set up sidewalk displays.
• Assists in implementation and maintenance of planograms.
• Opens and closes the store under specific direction of the Store Manager.
• Performs additional duties typically performed by the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager, in their absence.
