Job summary

Bass Pro Shops is seeking a General Manager to oversee daily store operations and merchandising, ensuring financial efficiency, inventory control, and exceptional customer service. This role leads a team of managers, opens and closes the store, and drives sales plans and staff development to create a legendary shopping experience.

Responsibilities include staffing, interviewing, training, performance reviews, and maintaining merchandising directives from corporate while upholding safety

Qualifications

• 5+ years in high-volume big-box retail management, multi-store experience preferred.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting, and cost-control abilities.
• Proven ability to lead teams, motivate associates and drive customer service excellence.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Assistant Store Manager, HR Manager, Loss Prevention Manager and Promotions Manager; oversee other store managers.
• Open and close the store; manage staffing, interviewing, training and performance reviews.
• Ensure world-class customer service and a safe, clean store environment.
• Meet and exceed financial plans; audit reports and inventory; control cash and store assets.
• Maintain merchandising directives and execute sales and payroll plans from corporate.
